I decided back in August that I had had ENOUGH of summer 2018! It was unbearable hot, oppressively even and I started counting down the days to fall then. Imagine my surprise that by October, we were still dealing with 80 and 90 degree heat. I had no other choice to flee to New York for some real fall feels and to finally flex in all of the my cute fall outfits sitting neglected in the closet.
Fall fashion is my favorite fashion. I cannot get enough of plush coats and knee-high boots. I would wear all plaid all the time if I could get away with it. In New Orleans, there's never a need for wool coats, but in New York I could finally bust out my Chadwicks of Boston beauty! It was the perfect light-weight yet toasty coat for strolling around the Upper West Side and Central Park. I love wearing a coat, but I hate carrying one. Coats become burdensome quickly when you have to haul them around in your arms along with your purse and shopping bags and whatever else you've picked up on you day in the city. I've never been a big fan of taking the subway in New York, period. I especially don't like it in the fall and winter when you coat that's keeping you warm above ground suddenly feels like a personal sauna once your hit the train. If you're taking the 6 up to Lincoln Center, the train fills up FAST and have to shimmy out of a coat and hold on to becomes a real chore. That's why I just adore this coat so much - even though wool implies that it may feel heavy, it doesn't at all. It's the perfect outerwear for a brisk day, whether you're on the street or below it.
I'm thinking of investing in another wool coat from Chadwicks of Boston in a longer length. Let me know your thoughts and what color I should get!
