So whoops...this is my first style post of 2016 - welcome and Happy New Year! Did 2015 try to come for your life too? Same. But we made it! I'm starting the year by jumping back and looking forward. Following? Cool.
A new year is supposed to be your new beginning, but I wanted to start this year by getting back to my roots - meaning kicking off 2016 with a vintage-heavy style post and some self-reflection. 10 years ago, I abhorred anything animal print, with a special contempt for leopard print pieces. I also used to hate all things Fendi which, what the hell was I thinking? So while I was home for the holidays, I went to my favorite vintage store, Time Warp, determined to have something to bring back to L.A. with me. This coat spoke to me. It said, "Sophia Loren has a coat exactly like this, you've seen it, buy me right now immediately!". And I did. It's sooooo plush, cozy, and glam. I draped it over myself and snuggled under it my entire flight from LA to L.A., and got many compliments on it (and a few bemused looks). So far, I've only paired it with black dresses so I can complement the black in the coat and let it speak. I was feeling a bit loud, so I threw on my very vintage Miu Miu heels from my favorite consignment store in New York, and some brilliant necklaces from Jess Leigh Jewels. I'm more than a little obsessed with the way the blue pops against the entire look and the contrast created by layering a simple and statement necklace.
I have a lot coming up this year, including a YouTube channel for all of my cuckoo style stories and releasing my first travel app! Stay tuned, babes. It's going to be a good year for all of us. Seriously - I've got my sage in tow.
