Question: does anyone else start dressing like they're an extra in The Craft the second October hits? Follow-up: do you guys know what The Craft is, or are you all too young? If you've never seen it, stop reading this blog post and go watch it right now! Best movie ever, it's like a dark Clueless with (honestly) better fashion. All of you girls rocking 90s style, even though you were born in 1999, are paying heavy homage to The Craft with your chokers, knee socks, slip dresses, and round sunnies. Watch it, come back and tell me about how much you loved it, and then I'll tell you about Jawbreaker.
I really didn't mean to style this comfy (seriously, I've worn it like 7 times now) T-shirt dress from Talia Boutique quite like this, but all of the parts kind of fit once I started just playing around with it. That's what I really love about essential pieces like these, they're essentially a blank canvas on which you can create any look you want. I broke out Florence (my pet aka my elephant necklace) to add a little color and weight to this look. I've been really into hats lately, you'll see, and I wanted to stick with this black hat and the black flats because they're both interesting, and thus standout, without taking anything away from the black maxi dress which is still the key to this look. There's also some really cute slits on either side - not too high and not too revealing (obviously, you can't really see them here) but I like them because it gives even more freedom of movement to the dress. Also, you can throw leg all over town - a personal favorite hobby of mine.
To recap: get your black dress on, watch The Craft, and let me know how it goes!
