Happiest of anniversaries to 1802! This lovely L.A.-based boutique is celebrating it's 1st birthday today and tomorrow, and I am so thrilled to be featuring them on this momentous day. From me to you, surviving in the fashion world is not easy (you've read The Devil Wears Prada), and for a boutique to make a year means they're doing something very right.
For Nancy, owner of 1802 and all-around peach of a gal, I think it's a mix of her versatile taste, consciously cultivated social media (cutest Instagram ever tbh), and personable energy that are driving force behind 1802's success. I mean... I'll take one of each please:
I love, LOVE, that she wears her own pieces and believes in them so much. Why would I ever want to buy a dress from a boutique that the owner wouldn't even wear? It's her confidence in wearing and styling her picks that give me the confidence to do the same.
The thing that really drew me to 1802 are the pretty prints and pops of color. It's like a kaleidoscope of style! I like to think of my style as multifaceted (boho x classic) and 1802 has pieces that appeals to the duality of my taste, while also offering options that step out of my sartorial comfort zone. Hell, I would even wear pants from this dynamic boutique. Pants! Can you even imagine?
1802 has really become one of my happy places; my style destination. It's fun, it's delicious, it's effortless, and it takes the stress out of shopping (unless your stressed about wanting to buy everything all at once...been there,). My absolute favorite right now? The Damask Print Dress that I got to Va-Va-Voom in around town. There's a slight bell flare to the sleeves that, mixed with the exotic print subtly muted in black and white, give this dress a 70s feel that meshed perfectly with my boho obsession. The fit was like a dream and the back...oh honey:
