I've been in such a beach-y resort-y mode lately, and I can't tell if it's because it's been over a month since my last vacation (which violates my strict one-getaway-per-month rule) or because it's February in L.A. (or as we like to call it here - summer). Whatever it is, I took the arrival of my Barbara Gerwit dress as a sign that I need to get myself planning and packing because as good as this bright printed dress looks in sunny SoCal, it'll look even better overlooking the Adriatic Sea on a balcony in Croatia.
Seashells, starfish, and sand dollars swirl around a navy blue background on this knit dress, and invoke such a relaxing feeling of lounging on a beach chaise or lunching at a seaside eatery while the breeze blows through you (newly) grey hair. The knit fabric has the perfect amount of elasticity to it, it fits, but does not suffocate. I love the yellow colorblocking at the split sleeves (a groovy 70s-inspired detail) and hem. Yellow, let's be honest, kind of gets looked over in clothing design but it's such a fun color in the rights doses. I like that it ends the lines of this dress with a ! - we could all use some bright notes in our day.
